c4c login issues

Post by Fiona T »

Lots of us* having problems logging into c4c** - not working in chrome on my laptop or mobile (have tried with and without ticking 'remember me'). Just tried edge and got in.

*Several people in aptochat
**Basically enter username and password, and it returns you to the page you were on but you're not logged in.

(Works for Jack on chrome - he must be special!)

Yep, screwed me about yesterday and today too. You need to delete all cookies associated with c4c, then it'll work again. Plenty of guides on how to do that online.

I used to have this ages ago. Since then it's fixed but I keep getting signed out even after selecting 'remember me'.

Today I remain signed in even after leaving the site for several hours! So seems like something's gone on with how login works today

I eventually tried on a private window, which worked, then it also worked again on my regular one

It's like getting locked out of your local.

I finally got back in today! Been locked out for about 4 months even though I was using the correct username and password.

Does anyone read the Board Administrator messages?

It looks like it's just Ben and Charlie that are administrators. So if they don't, no-one does! But maybe if it happens again, try to reach out to one of them using some other medium.

But welcome back!

There was absolutely no notification of any issue with your account- it hadn't been deactivated so I couldn't begin to tell you what was wrong. Board admin messages, as far as I can tell, get sent into the ether so I'm not 100% sure what happened there either. Will dig into it a bit deeper but only Charlie can access the database itself.

Thanks Ben and Gevin, I had followed the advice in this thread and also in George's apterous thread but it didn't help me. I never suspected my account had been deactivated, but just that it was affected by these wider login issues. I think I may have actually raised my first Board Administrator request before this thread was started.

After a couple of Board Administrator messages and reviving an old aptomail thread with Charlie (I'm a trial member so can't create new threads), I just decided to try logging in every couple of weeks. I could have tried harder with reaching out via Facebook or otherwise but I do wonder if there's anyone else who still hasn't managed to log back in.

Also, password reset doesn't seem to send an email, or at least didn't when I was unable to log in but did provide the correct email address linked to my account.

Variation on a theme, but Chrome is flagging up security issues here because the HTTPS for C4C has expired.
