I think that your first 2 calculations are wrong?
r3 turns out to be 128
r9 turns out to be 1152
I could be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time....)

Can I claim the prize for working out how to make 128 and 1152
R3 alt: (75/(4-1)+2/2)*8=208 becomes (75/(4+1)+2/2)*8=128
R9 alt: ((25-1)*10+2)*4=968 becomes (25-1)*(10+2)*4=1152

And isn't HYALINES OK? I've only got a print dictionary, but there is a count noun meaning of HYALINE.

The online dictionary has HYALINE as an adjective, as a mass noun, and as part of the set phrase "the hyaline", meaning a smooth sea or clear sky.

BODMAS is used in bracketed solutions; innermost brackets are taken first. So, 4-1=3, then 75/3=25, then 2/2=1, then 25+1=26, then 26*8=208. Hope this explains.

Re HYALINE, for Sam’s reasons, on balance I don’t think HYALINES would be allowed; “the hyaline” means there’s only one, like “the sandman”; HYALINE = HYALIN, the latter has the [MASS NOUN] label (linked pages are actually used for adjudication). HYALINE was suggested here https://wiki.apterous.org/Episode_7424 and Susie did not put the availabile S on.

Then again, in http://www.c4countdown.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=11631 she was OK with it. Common sense says you're right, but I don't see that the dictionary actually disallows it.
