Not often a 5-syllable conundrum appears in a prelim. Good one though.

Not quite "administrative error" worthy IMO but I don't think Anne needs to ask for the not-written-down word first if the lengths are different.
GAMEFUL to beat AFLAME

I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

Continuing yesterday's theme. Last numbers. Target 847. Numbers include 100, 9, 6 and 1.
Contestant "100-6=94". Anne-Marie repeats and writes it out. Contestant "Multiply that by 9". Anne-Marie writes down the 6, slight pause, writes down the 8, longer pause, writes down the 4. That to me is not only someone working it out, but someone who hasn't seen this simple method of getting to the target.
I'm not objecting, they are making a TV show and it doesn't matter any more than if someone doing a quiz doesn't know all the answers themselves. But still . . .

Thought that wasn't a bad move. A player could 'think' they've seen a longer word and if their opponent has declared a shorter word first, they could hope to have found it in the time taken for Anne to ask the opponent.Philip A wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 9:45 pmI agree.Johnny Canuck wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 6:29 pm Not quite "administrative error" worthy IMO but I don't think Anne needs to ask for the not-written-down word first if the lengths are different.
