I'm pretty out of the loop just now, but that 727 was absolutely piss-easy, wasn't it? Disappointing to see neither player get it. I thought the current champion was supposed to be good?

Evidence so far is lacking. I want female players to do well, they're under-represented, but she ain't all that. She's no Wendy Roe.
19-12 at this stage is pretty poor.

FFS this is poor quality. JAUNTIER was pretty obvious there, wasn't it?

Goes from bad to worse, STUMBLED was almost spelled out there. Is this going to be an epic low scoring match?

I'm not even going to comment on the last number round (oh wait, I just did). 645 was a piece of piss there.
71-44 is a 9-rounder score, not a 15-rounder. Very poor.

Alt for R3:
(100+75+7) x (10-6) - 1
I didn't see the simpler way that RR did it.
I found the challenger entertainingly ballsy, but was sad when champ had an 8 and he risked a 7... needlessly reckless

Really going for it today. I'm sure back on gevincountdown you wouldn't have tolerated this behaviour!JimBentley wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 1:53 pm I'm not even going to comment on the last number round (oh wait, I just did). 645 was a piece of piss there.

The champion played better in her previous games and has looked like octochamp material but we'll see how it goes.

Well kudos to anyone who goes on the show obviously, but David Green made errors in eight rounds. Is that the record?

I think 6 disallowed words out of 10 is a record for new 15s, but not sure.

Seriously though, you were thinking she was going to be an octochamp? I'm absolutely fucking useless these days but even I'd have restricted her to about 30 points, which is a pretty bad beating on any metric.

As I say, she was better in the other games. This could have been a blip. She might still win eight.JimBentley wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:49 pmYeah. I've changed. For the worse. This was also the first game of the recording day (you can tell as it was Nicki Chapman's first game in her stint), and that adds to the "blip" hypothesis.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 10:42 pmAs I say, she was better in the other games.
