This is something she does a lot on Catsdown to avoid embarrassing the contestants.

I think it's worse if anything and frustrating as it's left unresolved.Rhys Benjamin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 2:45 pm This is something she does a lot on Catsdown to avoid embarrassing the contestants.

At the risk of being told to apply to go on the show, I think this numbers game is a perfect example of how it's socially acceptable in this country to lack basic number skills by just saying "I've never been able to do maths" whereas not being able to read or write is not.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 2:31 pm The geezer got 393 by doing 100×4-7.

100, 8, 8, 4, 9, 7 -> 394
You'd struggle to find an easier one that both players failed to solve.

I am glad that this round annoyed someone else as much as it annoyed me!Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:13 amAt the risk of being told to apply to go on the show, I think this numbers game is a perfect example of how it's socially acceptable in this country to lack basic number skills by just saying "I've never been able to do maths" whereas not being able to read or write is not.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 2:31 pm The geezer got 393 by doing 100×4-7.

Rachel is usually someone who has my full respect.. but what the hell was she at with that pedantic solve? Just point out the open goal! He knows it, the viewers know it, it is actually patronising not to.
And while I'm in high dudgeon mode anyway...
GET ON THE F**CKING SHOW IMMEDIATELY.
HOW MANY MORE DECADES DO YOU PLAN TO WAIT???!!!!

I wasn't convinced Rachel saw it herself at first because at the start she was shown with her pad. But when Nick even linked to her by asking if she could find the missing 1, and then Rachel starting the solution by making the 1, it developed into a very strange few seconds!Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 2:31 pm The geezer got 393 by doing 100×4-7.
