C1: TIPTOED (7)
C2: POTTED (6)
DC: TIPTOED (7) EPIDOTE (7)
Score: 14–7 (max 15)
No doubt a few of you spotted the obscure EPIDOTE as Doddy got it in his final against Rich
Round 3: M N L I O A Q P E
C1: MENIAL (6)
C2: palemino (its palomino)
DC: OPALINE (7)
OT: IMPANEL (7) (Me) MANIPLE (7)

Round 5: 75, 6, 9, 7, 7, 5. Target: 362.
C1: 362. 75x5-6-7 (10)
C2: 363.
Score: 30–7 (max 39)
In a manner reminiscent of Kenan and Kel, Carol declares she lurrrrrrrrves 75!
Teatime teaser: INFRINGE -> REFINING
Round 6: D T C I O I A T I
C1: IDIOTIC (7)
C2: dottia
DC: IDIOTIC (7) DACOIT (6)
Score: 37–7 (max 46)
Pretty flat selection here. I blame Baroness Caro Ness for going for 5 vowels, when a consonant could have given us DICTATOR or DIATOMIC. (Although the next consonant happened to be X!)
Round 7: X S T O A E W R I
C1: WAXIEST (7)
C2: WARIEST (7)

DC: TADPOLES (8) PEDALOES (8) APOSTLE (7) PELOTAS (7)
OT: ADOPTEES (8) DESOLATE (8)
Score: 60–22 (max 69)
Great spot here from our champion. Somehow I always seem to get stuck when I see APOSTLE/PELOTAS even though TADPOLES has come up a few times recently!
Origin of Words: Susie talks about Affluenza: people's fascination with wealth, and Nomophobia: the fear of being without your mobile.
Round 10: 50, 9, 10, 3, 7, 2. Target: 530.

C2: nothing!!!
OT: slightly more conformist: (50+3+1)x8
Score: 101–43 (max 111)
Round 15: U N C L E P H I N
The joke's on C2 as C1 buzzes on 5 seconds to reveal the PUNCHLINE which is correct.
Score: 111–43 (max 121)
Impressive performance today from Martin, which he confesses was probably the best of the bunch. He missed only 10 points and 4 maxes, whereas his opponent failed to score in 3 piss-easy numbers games. At this rate I reckon he could go on to... well not Number 1 seed, but perhaps miss out on it by about 12 points. Also did anyone else notice the camera wobble in one round?

Nice review mate. This is the review from the 11th, not the 14th which the top line of the review says.

Oh, and round 3 the actual spelling is PALOMINO not palamino as you've put. Sorry I didn't spot that earlier.Dinos Sfyris wrote:Thanks KirkDuly amended.
