Yeah was unlucky for Curtis there but the standard was quite good today. Padrino as a R11 alternative...

Alternative for Round 9 which involves All the Numbers: (75 x (7 - (8 - 6))) - (10 ÷ 10)
At the last moment, Curtis lost out to Paul the incumbent Champion. I feel so sorry for him, and Rachel just "rubbing" in saying "I should have went with 4 Large"...oh dear...I was expecting Curtis to win very comfortably after the second TTT...guess sometimes the game can turn out to be very unpredictable!

Whoa. Paul pulled that one out of the fire. Respect to both players.
Quite a few beaters today, including THANEDOM and ARMIGERS.
Standard method on 3rd numbers: (7 + 6 - 8) * 75 - 10 / 10

I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

Curtis was very unlucky to lose having a 15 point lead by the last 2 rounds.
MODERANT as an alternative to THANEDOM in R1.

Yep that was tough on Curtis. Seeing we're doing round 9 solutions and I haven't seen my way yet, here it is: 75 x 10/(10 - 8) - (7 - 6)

I don't think Curtis losing was that big a deal. He was an OK player, like Paul, but unlikely to go far in the general scheme of things.

For me it was just because he managed to get a good lead over Paul, which I can't remember anyone else doing, then lost it.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 8:58 pm I don't think Curtis losing was that big a deal. As I probably played my best ever game this day I just worked out how I would have performed against Paul & Curtis (with due respect to studio pressure etc) and I scored 110, but more importantly Paul would have scored 48 and Curtis 68 against me! So Curtis easily appears to me as a better player than Paul.
