Has Countdown ever helped you with your career?
Either by directly helping you to gain employment, or by getting you opportunities or contacts who have advanced your career/employment options.

Think it helped Damian become producer

Yes.
Mike Brown: "Round 12: T N R S A E I G U
C1: SIGNATURE (18) ["9; not written down"]
C2: SEATING (7)

If the papers are to be believed, yes!
I started with Allianz the same week as my finals were aired and used the fact that I won the series in my interview. My manager has always insisted that the main reason I got the job was my willingness to dress up as a leprechaun in the office.!

I was contacted by a recruiter who had been searching for contact details for me and eventually found apterous, which lead to the job that I've had for the last 4 years. Maybe that counts?

I got made redundant recently, and having the Countdown thing on my CV really interested my new employer, apparently. So possibly.

Re: Has Countdown ever helped you with your career?
When I had my interview for my current job, Countdown was almost all we talked about. One of the interviewers had been on Pointless and Perfection, so we had similar experiences to chat about. It's certainly something that helps you stand out, but I don't think it was the deciding factor (I also had a lot of experience, etc).

I reckon the people I work with think I'm smarter than they would otherwise. Especially people who I ordinarily have less interaction with.
