Grand Final Spoilers For Friday June 12th 2015
So, we've reached the end of yet another series, and like the last one, it's another "Battle of the Sexes", as we have the #1 seed, Tom "The Enfield Enforcer" Cappleman, taking on the #3 seed, Tracey "The Stockport Sparkler" Mills.
Tom has been in imperious form throughout most of his run, and with an average of over 115, a nearly flawless record in the numbers, and a pretty decent conundrum record, the odds are certainly in his favour.
But, when we talk about miracles, Tracey is definitely right at the top of the list, after her Lazarus-like in her first show, coming from 22 points down with 4 rounds to go to win, and then become an octochamp is truly something super-phenomenal, and as the show has progressed, she seems to be building her confidence up even more, and with it getting in better performances. Can she save her best for the final
Statistics Corner:
Firstly, No.1 Seed Tom "The Enfield Enforcer" Cappleman - 10 Wins, 1,152 Points. (Average: 115.2)
Highest Score: 135 vs. Jack Roberts (4th Game)
Lowest Score: 98 vs. Gavin Woolnough (Quarter-Final)
9's Achieved: 3/4
Total Points/Max/%: 1152/1267 (91%)
Letters Points/Max/%: 690/773 (89%)
Numbers Points/Max/%: 382/394 (97%)
Conundrum Points/Max/%: 80/100 (80%)
Secondly, No.3 Seed Tracey "The Stockport Sparkler" Mills - 10 Wins, 1,036 Points. (Average: 103.6)
Highest Score: 116 vs. Daniel Rhymer (6th Game)
Lowest Score: 97 vs. Keith Taylor (3rd Game)
9's Achieved: 4/9
Total Points/Max/%: 1036/1313 (79%)
Letters Points/Max/%: 697/821 (85%)
Numbers Points/Max/%: 299/392 (76%)
Conundrum Points/Max/%: 40/100 (40%)

Good luck to my wife Tracey Mills and to Tom Cappleman, all the finals were played in a great spirit and all had a good laugh together, the way it should be.
Married to Tracey Mills but please don't be put off.

Re: Grand Final Spoilers For Friday June 12th 2015
Congratulations, Tom! You came back well after that early setback and there's no doubt in my mind that over the course of the series, you are a fully-deserving champion.
Tracey, you made it a close game and to reach the final in a strong series is a great achievement, even more so when you consider how nervous you were about going back on and the position you found yourself in in your first game. You should be proud!
I haven't watched much of this series but I'm sure it's been great. Top work by Damian and co as ever.

I had PERIODTS for this round - it's a mass noun and a count nounTony Atkins wrote:ODO says no - apterous agrees but suggests DEPICTERS is valid.Steven M. McCann wrote:DEPICTORS? in the PREDICTS round.
Great final well done to both Tom and Tracey.
Never heard of the Conundrum
I just wondered what their head to head scores are in Apterous and tournament matches are?

Great quality final, well done both. Many congrats on becoming series champ, Tom, fully deserved, in particular your numbers games throughout the series were superb. I also guessed floorlick was the conundrum. Well done, Tracey, on becoming series runner-up, great word spots throughout the series.
Well done to the Countdown team on yet another great series.

A fantastic way to end the series. A brilliantly played final by Tom and Tracey. Many congratulations to Tom for winning the series, and well done to Tracey for making it to the final, and making the series well enjoyable.
Me and Jack Worsley amazingly double-maxed the final (he won unsurprisingly, wasn't close to the conundrum), but it was definitely clear that the band in the audience were enjoying the display provided a lot, as it was great to see 2 supreme players in action.
INSULATE/TAILSPUN in round 1, CONFABS in round 2, NEARISH in round 7 and KEROGEN in round 11.

Congratulations Tom on your well deserved victory and well done Tracey for getting to the final and making it a very competitive and enjoyable watch. Another great series with fantastic competitors - long live Countdown, still my favourite show!

Great game and great series. Well played by all. I managed to avoid the Facebook spoilers before watching this one (unlike with the second semi-final).

Great final! Jo laying off the 'making up a word every round' schtick (it's entertaining in moderation), a mention for ROYAL Tunbridge Wells, and a fun conundrum guess (also liked Tracey's jazz hands as time was up) all added up to a thoroughly enjoyable game. The wait for a female champ goes on, alas - until Tracey whomps y'all at CoC anyway

Re: Grand Final Spoilers For Friday June 12th 2015
Well played Tom and Tracey on superb performances throughout the series, and congratulations to Tom.
This will happen soon. We've had as many finals featuring a female player in the last three years as there were in the previous ten years. Antoinette Ryan was ahead of Dan McColm at one stage in their final, and Tracey got first blood against Tom. This and previous series have shown there are plenty of talented female players, and the idea that one of them won't win a series sooner or later seems unlikely to me.Jennifer Steadman wrote:The wait for a female champ goes on, alas

Congratulations, Tom! I liked the conundrum guess particularly
Well done Tracey on making the final and putting up a good fight. You can be proud of that!
First final between two contestants from previous series?
