Countdown recap for Tuesday 3 March 2015.

Evening all and a belated recap from back in Jordan's run from me standing in for Jen. Jordan, aka Nadroj Rekrab, has been doing well so far but what will today behold?

Nick starts off by talking about a big night at the Oxford Union, as US Vogue editor Anna Wintour gives a guest speech, and reading a letter he was sent inviting himself to be a speaker.

Jordan takes an early lead with WAITERS but the darrenic 8 goes unnoticed in the studio.

Another winner for Jordan but he is INFORMED he could have gone one better by DC.

Nice easy numbers gets Brian off the mark. NEXT!

Jordan is just a PASSER by in this round as Brian halves his lead. Two eights are missed by DC.

A GASPER is a old term for a cigarette, common in the 1950's
A GOSSAMER is a fine, filmy substance consisting of cobwebs spun by small spiders, seen especially in autumn.

But Jordan regains his 14 point advatage with VIBRATE, securing the first letters max of the day

Round 6: 10, 8, 8, 7, 1, 25. Target: 742.

DC Guest: Nick gives a short advert for Pam's new book, and she proceeds to read one of her fans favourites "Dolly on the Dustcart"

Jordan: 750. Mistake in working.
Brian: -

Score: 31–17 (max 51)

Brian blanks and Jordan makes a mistake as there is no change to the scores. 106*7 was the trick in this round and Rachel shows us how it's done

Neither contestant has any trouble HANDLING the letters here and spot the darrenic 8.

A TONGA is a light horse-drawn two-wheeled vechile used in India.

It's Win number 6 for Jordan with two rounds to spare as he pulls out NOUGATS

Easy numbers game to end the day and add 10 more points onto each total

No one buzzes. The answer was NOVOCAINE.
Final Score: 82–54 (max 124)

The conundrum stumps everyone in the studio apart from Rachel Riley who correctly gives the answer, despite thinking it was a brand. Another solid performance from Jordan sees him one step closer to octochampdom. Can he join the realm of players with 8 wins??? Well you know the answer by now. As for Brian he heads back to Cumbernauld with a goody bag and Nick's best wishes.

We now have a new champion in Chris Dromey, and he'll continue his quest when Countdown returns tomorrow. Join Andy for that recap, otherwise I will see you on Tuesday where I might bring out some of the gifs, sparkles and all the rest you'll be used to from Jen's Tuesday recaps.
