I'm reliably informed that the Maccy D's one is a bit shit this year (100m for 23 players?!). Are people that bothered about playing the McDonald's fantasy football or would people prefer to do the Sun/Mirror ones? For those who don't check Apterous: Robin McKay's already set up a league on the Mirror website so it may be easier to use that.

The mirror one is already set up so we may as well just do that.

Just done mine. I don't get the Brazil-Mexico game being in the first round of fixtures, but it certainly makes the tactics of the transition between weeks 1 and 2 more interesting as everyone rushes to drop all their Brazilian players.

Its because the Brazil vs. Mexico game is played before the first lot of Group H matches have been completed.

He's the cheapest of the England defenders and a guaranteed starter. I reckon England will get two clean sheets in the group stages too.

True. Italy-England has 0-0 written all over it, and England-Costa Rica could easily be a boring 1-0 or something. Probably a goal from a corner knowing England, so fair enough!

I have now joined. Was going to captain Vargas but Neymar seems a no brainer with 2 games to go at.

I've set up a Sun league for anyone doing that just for fun. I will be putting my 30 teams in this.

My team:

Buffon

Chiellini, Sagna, Zabaleta

Paulinho, Herrera (Mexico), Rodriguez (Colombia), Muller

Cavani (c), Hulk, Aguero

Subs: Muslera (Uruguay), Alderweireld (Bbelgium), Mertesacker, Guardado (Mexico)

Hopefully having a couple of Italy's backline will curse them into conceding loads of goals. :D

I'm top, albeit only by way of my two Chilean players already having been awarded their points for tonight's game.

The chase is on :)

Why did I put Lichtsteiner in my team? I'd have been better off leaving in the Mexican who wasn't even playing this round.

Maybe they'll update it but I should be first. Says I lost by three points but Khedira didn't play and should have been automatically substituted with Vlaar who scored six.

This situation I'm sure must have come up for someone before; when I chose my team, I went for three Chelsea players: Ivanovic, Cahill and Fabregas. But I also had Loic Remy (selected when he was at QPR) so now he's been transferred to Chelsea I've got four. The "Transfers" page is giving me a warning that I've got too many players from Chelsea, but the "Pick Team" page gives no warning at all and all four are in the starting eleven. Anyone know what happens if I try to play all four at the same time?

You're fine to play all four, but the next time you want to make a transfer you'll have to get rid of at least one of them before you'll be allowed to confirm anything.

Huge congratulations to Ed for winning this year's c4c league by a whopping 193 points (yes, ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY THREE POINTS) to finish 1,727th in the overall standings out of over 3.5 million players (top 0.05%)!

Ed retained his lead majestically from Gameweek 8 right through to the end of the season, and had the most valuable team by far, holding that accolade from Gameweek 6 onwards (see graphs for league ID 5803 here).

My brag in the previous post ended up being the highest gameweek score of the season, so I'll take that!

Speroni, Butland
Jagielka, Clyne, Mertesacker, Cedric, Alderweireld
Fabregas, Cazorla, Hazard, Yaya Toure, Coutinho
Lukaku, Defoe, Deeney

Two reliable goalkeepers, great midfield and good defence but attack looks a bit weak. Will probably change it about 1000 times before the season starts and then lose interest quite early on in the season as usual.

Catapulted into second place thanks to picking Harry Kane as my triple captain this week :)

Could have saved it for one of those "double gameweeks" that crop up towards the end of the season, but it worked out pretty well! Think I might use the bench boost if I can get 15 players all playing twice. ;)
