Predictions for Giles'
...octochamp total?
I'm pretty certain he will get 107ish in each of his next two games to break Jack Hurst's record, but how any can he end up with?
1,000?
He needs 133 and 134 or similar to get 1,000, it's possible, but is it probable?
Views please?

Re: Predictions for Giles'
He's on 733 after 6.
Numbers x 8 + conundrums x 2 + 9-letter words x 20 = 460 pts.
Anything less and quite frankly I'll be very disappointed.

Re: Predictions for Giles'
Going roughly by what we've seen so far, I predict one more nine and one more zero-scoring round in his remaining two games. This would leave him on something like 971, which is ridiculously good, and surely far enough above 946 to dispel any idea that he only broke the record because of the new format. And of course it's very conceivable he could score much higher than that.

If I was a serious betting man, I'd plump for 978.

944. A Holdenesque 8th game slump.

…on the “Countdown - Spoilers” forum? Surely not!Gavin Chipper wrote:Spoiler in the subject line!
Whilst Giles is set to amass around 970pts or so, in itself blindingly good, is it conceivable that someone could score 1,000 points across an octochamp run? Only Mark Deeks has achieved this on an Apterous mocktorun, breaking the four figure barrier by a mile but with 130–140pts available per game. One game with flat scoring letters rounds and an impossible numbers round could ruin everything.

Since we seem to be running a sweepstake, I'll plump for 991.

Re: Predictions for Giles'
On a serious note, he looks like he is going to smash Jack's record, but, is he any better?
I think Jack would beat him all day long on the show?
Views?
PS
Keep the sweepstake guesses coming in, please!

I think 946. Whatever it ends up, it's pretty damn impressive.

If he equalled his lowest score — twice — he'd still get 963!

Not bad for someone who struggles to spell their own name :p
Mike Brown: "Round 12: T N R S A E I G U
C1: SIGNATURE (18) ["9; not written down"]
C2: SEATING (7)
Score: 108–16 (max 113)
Another niner for Adam and yet another century. Well done, that man."
