Googe Maps Scale
I've been trying to measure some distances on Google Maps, but I've been finding it quite hard because when it says how far e.g. 2000ft and 1km are, the lines marking each end are actually quite thick. Which bit is the "point"? Do you just take the same bit on both lines, or use the inner or the outer edges?

I think if you're logged in you can create a custom map and draw a straight line from any point to point (doesn't have to be along roads). Googe should give you the length of the line to some degree of accuracy.

OK, thanks. You don't actually have to be logged in. For anyone else interested, you click on map labs in the bottom left corner and enable the measurement tool, and click on your start and end points.Adam Gillard wrote:I think if you're logged in you can create a custom map and draw a straight line from any point to point (doesn't have to be along roads).
