Enjoy the show.

Round 1: W N U A O S D A E

C1: WOUND (5)
C2: WOUNDS (6)
DC: SUNDAE (6) NAUSEA (6) UNDOES (6)
OT: ANODES (6) DEWANS (6) ENDOWS (6) SNOWED (6) SUNDEW (6) UNAWED (6)
Score: 0–6 (max 6)

Oh dear, a bad start by Ben as he misses the plural, which Peter didn't...........

In India, a DEWAN is any of certain officials, as a financial minister or prime minister of a native colony.

Round 2: R S A R Z E A N B

C1: BARNS (5)
C2: BARREN (6)
DC: BRAZEN (6) ZEBRAS (6)
OT: BARRENS (7) BRAZENS (7) ZAREBAS (7)
Score: 0–12 (max 13)

Peter doubles his lead quickly, although both he and DC are found guilty of unpluralising here.............

In Sudan (and other surrounding areas), a ZAREBA is a protective enclosure, as of thorn bushes.

Round 3: C S E M P I O S U

C1: COPIES (6)
C2: SPICES (6)
DC: POSSUM (6)
RR: IMPOSES (7)
OT: SPECIOUS (8)
Score: 6–18 (max 21)

Ben gets on the board, as Rachel goes one better than DC here. 8-)

SPECIOUS is an adjective meaning apparently good or right though lacking real merit; superficially pleasing or plausible.

Round 4: M R E E P R A D V

C1: REVAMPED (8)
C2: DEPRAVE (7)
DC: DREAMER (7)
OT: PERVADER (8)
Score: 14–18 (max 29)

Ben has clearly REVAMPED his approach, and is now just 4 points behind now.

Round 5: 50, 75, 10, 4, 8, 9. Target: 268.

C1: 267. (4 x 50) + 75 - 8 (7)
C2: 266.
RR: 268. (50 + 8 + 9) x 4 (10)
Score: 21–18 (max 39)

Ben now takes the lead, something he was very familiar with in the last show, but even Rachel doesn't do the most simple route to the answer - (75 - 8) x 4. :geek:

Alastair talks about his children and their universities, which leads him to admitting that he didn't finish his degree at Bristol University, so was given an honorary one to help celebrate their 100th anniversary. 8-)

Teatime teaser: ALANSGOT -> LANGOSTA

Round 6: T N C I O G N C U

C1: COUNTING (8)
C2: COUNTING (8)
DC: UNCTION (7)
Score: 29–26 (max 47)

Numerically speaking, both contestants have been COUNTING their 8's here.

Round 7: N R B P E O E L A

C1: LEANER (6)
C2: replane
DC: BEANPOLE (8) OPERABLE (8)
OT: OPENABLE (8) PERONEAL (8) ROPEABLE (8)
Score: 35–26 (max 55)

Quite an interesting discussion between Alastair and Nick about the new trend of "verbing", with DEPLANE and MENUED. :P  But, back in the gameplay, Peter's logical guess is found to not be in the dictionary.

PERONEAL is an adjective meaning pertaining to or situated near the fibula.

Round 8: R N O A Q T E I H

C1: RETAIN (6)
C2: RATION (6)
DC: HAIRNET (7) ANOTHER (7)
OT: THERIAN (7)
Score: 41–32 (max 62)

A trio of 7's available here, of which DC get 2 and the contestants get none. :P

THERIAN is an adjective meaning belonging or pertaining to the group Theria, comprising the marsupial and placental mammals and their extinct ancestors.

Round 9: S T T G I E U R E

C1: GUTTERS (7)
C2: GUTTERS (7)
DC: GESTURE (7) TRUSTEE (7)
OT: GRISETTE (8) TERGITES (8)
Score: 48–39 (max 70)

Not even DC can get the 8's in this one.

A GRISETTE is a young French workingwoman.
A TERGITE is the dorsal sclerite of an abdominal segment of an insect.

Susie's Origins Of Words talks about the origin of "fail", as in the internet-related "fail".

Round 10: 100, 50, 2, 10, 2, 1. Target: 150.

C1: 150. 100 + 50 (10)
C2: 150. (50 x 1) + 100 (10)
Score: 58–49 (max 80)

Hmmmm, I think I'll take a break now. Oh wait, I'm not in Italy any more. :P

Teatime teaser: LEAVEMOB -> MOVEABLE

Round 11: T I A M K F L O X

C1: AXIOM (5)
C2: FLOAT (5)
DC: FLOKATI (7)
OT: FOXTAIL (7)
Score: 63–54 (max 87)

Alastair even praises Ben for his AXIOM, but it's DC's turn to go brill again with their awesome 7. :D

Round 12: M S R I A T D E F

C1: MARDIEST (8)
C2: MASTER (6)
OT: READMITS (8)
Score: 71–54 (max 95)

Ben now pulls away from Peter with his risky 8.

Round 13: A O E L J D Y I T

C1: DETAIL (6)
C2: toadily
DC: TOADY (5) JOLTED (6) DILATE (6)
OT: EIDOLA (6) IODATE (6) JAILED (6) JILTED (6) TAILED (6) TOILED (6)
Score: 77–54 (max 101)

The game is over as a contest, as Peter's risky 7 is just that. :P (Not used that in a while, have I :?: )

Round 14: 100, 75, 8, 1, 7, 8. Target: 517.

C1: 517. (75 x 7) - 8 (10)
C2: 517. (75 x 7) - 8 (10)
Score: 87–64 (max 111)

Another nice and easy numbers game. Interesting that all 3 numbers games today could've been solved by using 3 numbers or less. :ugeek:

Also, rather interestingly, Ben's total today is now more than what he and Alex got between them yesterday. :geek: :ugeek:

Round 15: O R G A S M I K S

No one buzzes. The answer was KISSOGRAM.
Final Score: 87–64 (max 121)

  Who didn't laugh when they saw the scramble :?: Amazingly, Rachel is the only one in the studio who got the answer. Maybe we should give her a day off and let her be a contestant. The only downside is that there would be no guarantee that it would be for a day.........

Anyway, after the travesty of yesterday's show, Ben puts in a much more solid performance and will return tomorrow in search of his hat-trick.

I will also be back tomorrow for another Robinson Recap, so till then, bye bye. ;) :) :D
