Does anyone actually use it? Has anyone even heard of it? If you haven't then it is basically Wikipedia but with a larger focus on reliability. I ask as I have been fascinated by it but few people seem to use it. If you wish to edit then a simple application form is all that stands in the way.

Sounds like Wikipedia.
But seriously, I've had a look, and as far as I can tell, it's like Wikipedia, but with a more modern-looking façade. The discussions about contentious articles take place ahead of official publication of the articles rather than afterwards, so that has the benefit of making an actual published article more trustworthy, probably. Other than that, hmm. Nice idea, I suspect always going to be more niche, as authors aren't often too bothered about following up their bits of work. Probably.
