Lucky bastard.

Oh well. Being 4-0 down from the first leg always meant it was gonna be harder to turn it around.

Very good attempt nonetheless. ;) :) :D

The friendly match between Romania and Ukraine finished as a two all draw and they had a penalty shoot out
afterwards. I think this is a great idea and should happen all the time for drawn friendlies.

Disappointing attendance for the Ireland v Wales match at the Aviva Stadium. Can't imagine what it will be like
tomorrow for what will ostensibly be two away teams.

Just saw the end of Fulham v Chelsea. I hate people celebrating the award of a penalty as if they've won the match like Fulham did. You still have to score it, which Fulham didn't.

That is brilliant! A-lol'd a couple of times!

Here's what I had come to deliver. It's completely different mind, but equally awesome in a different way.
Cue lots of "is this what football has come to???!" - took me two replays to work it out.

Breaking news on sky sports, Michael Carrick signs new three year contract at Man U. What the hell is going on? He's bloody useless. I thought he'd be a definite for going in the summer along with Gibson and Obertan.

Great useless stat on the guardian web coverage of the game earlier. Ryan Giggs signed for united on the Da Silva twins birth date, July 9, 1990.

A few minutes to kill before bedtime so thought I'd have a look at what the RAWK forum think of Andy Carroll (he's still an uber-slow young version of Crouch apparently!?!)

Diversions to the topic produced gems like:

Fan #1: [David] Villa is way better than fowler ever was.

Fan #2 Reply, followed by numerous people agreeing: I can safely say, without any bias whatsoever, that this is a pile of bollocks.

God I love such extravagant stupidity/bias, so much better than the mundane variety that commentates on every ITV match.

That's quite a hobby you've got. Had some time to kill so you thought you'd troll RAWK. RAWK is a great forum though because you get extremes of love for the players (see Fowler example) and extremes of Soccer AM-watching, Andy Gray-regurgitating mouth-breathers (Carroll is slow, young Crouch) that you find on most football forums. But the thick ones get hounded out eventually.

Anyways the big Liverpool news is of course that Lucas has signed a new contract, which makes me very happy!

People are interesting and funny in an unintentional way. Looking at the odd forum is a good way to kill a few minutes. I'm not registered on RAWK, nor would I ever register on there. That doesn't interest me.

I would like to see Kenny punished (possibly a 3 game touchline ban) as it is quite clear that he says "piss off" which is on par with Rooney swearing on camera too. Nothing will happen though.

How's that on par? Rooney's ban was for swearing into the camera, not swearing. You're allowed to swear.

Because Kenny is Liverpool's manager, that's why it's on par.

Not enough foot-on-ball action for my liking in Real v Barca. Can anyone who regularly watches Spanish football tell me if it's always like this? Or is it just the current crop of Madrid and Barca players who are all handbags and no football?

I remember watching the Barca 5 - 0 Madrid game earlier this season, that was amazing, beautiful football. It seems to become much less flowing and graceful when the competitiveness increases.

The Copa del Rey final was pretty dire but not like this. It annoys me so much when you seen all these twats rolling around on the floor over bloody nothing. Do they really not see how embarrassing it is (one of the reasons I hate Nani for United - until he cuts that out of his game then I won't like him no matter how many goals he scores).

Would much have preferred to watch Spurs vs Arsenal again. You would see far far better football being played in those 2 legs.

Can I not just say Yes without faffing about with numbers? Amazing game last night. Unfortunately I didn't get to watch it live as I went to the bloody Europa League final. I didn't even get to see the goal as some idiot couldn't find their seat and walked in front of me. The goal was scored just before half time, how have you not found your seat by then?

Just out of interest, did you buy your ticket before or after Glasgow Rangers were knocked out? Her Majesty might have had a few more regrets to express if she'd been accompanied by the support they'd have taken.

Only got tickets a few days ago. Probably wouldn't have managed to get one if Ranger's were still in it. Porto and Braga had sent back a lot of their allocation as people in Portugal couldn't afford to go. Still a decent sized crowd at it. Good atmosphere and all, the match itself wasn't the best though. If Braga had taken their chance at the start of the second half it could've been better.

I dunno what it is with ITV, I always seem to get a feed to a different game to the one el fuckwit Andy Townsend is commentating on. Also Young getting Man of the Match is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. He hit one good shot which the keeper got a touch to but still went in. Other than that he got put in lots of good positions and hit the goalkeeper regularly, including one situation where there were great options to set someone up, particularly to the right, and he blasted it at a defender which led to Switzerland having a 4 on 3 immediately after. He missed an open goal (the ball came too quickly to him apparently) along with Bent (on his wrong foot, obviously), although they'd have got points for it in Gaelic Football which I'm surprised Townsend didn't mention for one of his favourites (Young).

So I'm guessing the media will spin it as though Young never hit the keeper and chose the wrong option numerous times, that he didn't miss an open goal. Above all else it was Downing's fault because he's on the valid hate list, along with the manager. They might mention Bent as well because he cocked up a lot of times.

Aside from that it appeared England were playing 4-0-3-3, because the number of times Switzerland waltzed up the field and at most were up against 4 defenders was embarrassing. You could have made a cup of tea waiting for the midfield to come back. Never mind 4-1 Germany would have won 8-1 against that.
