What makes you happy?
In an attempt to balance the mood on the forum, I thought I'd start a more cheery topic. And also, the government is apparently going to start surveying us to find out how happy we are.
So, what makes you happy? It can be as major or trivial as you like.
I'll start with something trivial.
I am very happy when I wake up and think it's probably about time to get up and then I look at the clock and find I still have two more hours left before the alarm goes off.

See, that annoys me because I know I'll never get back to sleep
It may sound trite, but my kids make me happy (even when I feel like selling them on Ebay!). Abbi is 7 today and watching her face as she opened the Baby Born doll was an absolute joy.

She came, she saw - oh well, at least she tried!

Nice idea, and definitely agree with the alarm clock.
My bedroom being tidy and everything in it being organised makes me happy. It happens quite infrequently, but when it does, I get this wonderful feeling of orderliness.

Every moment I spend with Heather. (I'm better at being a soppy romantic than at being bitchy, it seems.)

Getting home after walking in the rain, changing into dry clothes and having a cup of tea.
Coincidentally, what I'm in the middle of doing right now.

Re: What makes you happy?
This made me happy in the Metro today:
"I just saw a man transporting a racoon on my train to work. It put me in a great mood for the day. Anyone else seen an odd pet on their travels?" Kev, Essex.
You sure it wasn't you, Wallace?

Re: What makes you happy?
I've never seen a live one but have seen plenty of dead ones. When we were at the Manatee festival in Crystal River (Florida) the other year, there was a stall that called itself Roadkill Creations and basically they sold things like slippers made out of dead raccoons!Michael Wallace wrote:I have never even seen a raccoon,(
