I cannot believe that I am saying this, but Series 29 is complete. Just a few duplicate entries to be deleted. I'll take the first five episodes of series 30. Or as James would say:

SERIES 29: DONE :D

Done. Finally in this series, the final 25.

That's May 26 - June 27 1997.

Will probably take a bit longer as it's Christmas. :D

SERIES 34: DONE :D

A nice way to end 2010.

So, for the start of 2011, the first half of Series 33, as the 2nd half has already been done, more or less.

That's 32 episodes, I make it. October 9 - November 21 1996, followed by a better version of the final.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. ;) :) :D  8-) ;) :) :D  8-) ;) :) :D  8-)

Done, despite me being under the weather today, but there you go. Recaps are the new healers, or it is for me at least.

20 more, but I've already done some of them, so the dates are July 29 - August 28 1996.

I'll go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back and do the first one (on record (Week 9)) in Series 7.

And I'll bookend it by doing the grand final but none inbetween.

SERIES 31: DONE :D Which I believe means that the last 15 years of Countdown data is now available to all. 8-)

Onto OED8 territory now, with Series 30.

I'll take the first 20 that are after the first 5, which I believe Joseph has booked out.

So, that's July 10 - August 4 1995.

I'm going to have a bash at Series 6, starting today. The notes have proved difficult to scan quickly (because they're double-sided foolscap), so I'm not expecting them to be added the the scans folder for some time (although I hope to do so eventually). Also, they're pretty hard to read, but as it's my handwriting I'm hopefully best placed to interpret them. The good news is that the notes are just about complete, so we should have quite a good record of the series when I'm done.

Excuse me, Mike, but why are you recapping Series 6 when it's not up in your notes? Is there a problem with the scan?

If you scroll up a bit, you will find out! The story's pretty much the same for all the earlier series too, I'm afraid. Having done the first seven, I definitely think I'm the best person to read the handwriting I was using at the time - I might do a sample scan and put it up for you to read and see what you make of it!

Do you mean the fact that I don't put them on my paper recaps? Tbh, I never foresaw the fact that we would end up doing all these historical recaps or I probably would have done. It's a shame we may never have a complete record, but you never know...

2001, Series 46, when the 15-round episodes began.

There were unofficial ones when Seven Seas Pure Cod Liver Oil was the sponsor in the late 90's. :ugeek:

Why don't we do all the QFs, SFs and GFs of all series first, as they are (most likely) the most important ones. When they are done, we can do the preliminaries. What do you think?

I suppose I'm pretty ambivalent, although I'm not sure it would be fair for one person to cherry-pick all the finals and leave all the prelims for others to do - not that I necessarily think they're the most important or most interesting games, anyway, as there other key things like octochamp runs for example. Personally, I'm going to carry on ploughing through the early (and part illegible) stuff in order and do the finals as I come to them. Basically, as long as we get through everything between us in the end without too many upsets, I'll be happy, so as far as I'm concerned if you want to do some of the finals then go for it, but it might be nice to see what others think too.

Thanks for joining the Recap Gang, Sophie. Your recap(s) will also need to be added to the wiki. Maybe your brother can show you what to do. :)
