It is notable, and unfortunate, that on this occasion C2 did not find the best word/solution in any round, so could have been defeated 132-0 potentially. Apparently his daughter filled in the form for him, so he might fill one in for her.. If he does let's hope she gets some quality practice in first.

I have a couple of things to say about that game.

First off, I'm glad that Peter won. That victory was once again very impressive.

But, I think Andy should be brought back because Carol misheard the selection for one of his letters in the second letters round. As his second letter choice in that round, he asked for a vowel and Carol gave him a consonant.

Nope, I would disagree on both points..

Firstly during the second round he first asks for a consonant, "then another" and promptly gets a second consonant. Not that there actually is any "choice" as such before 3 vowels and 4 consonants have hit the board, so it makes no difference anyway.


Our challenger lost by such a large margin that it is quite clear that even if a mistake did exist (which, on examination, none appears to have done) it would take many mistakes on many rounds to have any impact on the outcome of the game...

.... It's not like his name's Deshpande or anything.

Besides I know when David Nickeas was the champion in Series 48 he asked for a consonant and got a vowel (or the other way around) and he just said to Carol "I actually asked for a consonant" and she threw the vowel and the floor and picked the next consonant. So if he had noticed he could have asked Carol to change her mind.

Thats right, because then when he next asked for a vowel, he asked for the one on the floor, but Carol wouldn't put it back up on the board so picked the next one out of the box.
