Re: Monday 14th December 2009 (Series 61, QF 3)
It's a bit of an oddity, this one and it depends on the vintage of the CountMax. At first it was included because it was (erroneously) included in the Official Countdown Words, but then it was removed when we took out the mass noun plurals. But then the ODE2r came out and it was actually specified as allowable in the usage notes, so it went back in. Then (and things get a bit hazy here) I think Susie might have disallowed it on the show, so back out it went. Finally, at some point between then and the start of this year (ish) it came up again in discussion and it seemed odd for it not to be in, so it should (still) be in the current version.Kai Laddiman wrote:Yeh for some odd reason it isn't in CountMax. Re: Monday 14th December 2009 (Series 61, QF 3)
It frustrates me when people say this. People who aren't 'anagram-wise' may not see ANGRIEST (ANGR^ is a hard prefix to spot) but might just see GRANITES. Obviously I'd offer GANISTER but if contestants do offer GRANITES (and don't see anything else) then it's useful to know if it's allowed.Simon Myers wrote: Stay safe and offer ANGRIEST.
