It seems as though we have had a good run of quality contestants recently each of whom has come up against another above average contestant and not progressed as far as their ability would dictate as a consequence. Richard looked very good yesterday, good on the letters and numbers and quick to the conundrum and given that he should be due an easier run of contestants he looks very likely to go all the way. What's more encouraging again is that his debut score of 110 is one that is normally only achieved by the very best Countdowners: ask Jon Corby if you think I am just typing this because I am prejudiced.

Round 15: F E D D A R R O W
C1 buzzes on 7 seconds (but I think this should be more like 4 seconds) to say FORWARDED which is correct.
Score: 91–75 (max 130)

There was a slight commotion over the conundrum today as Jill did seem to have an extra three seconds on the conundrum over Richard. She was definitely given her card, as she has a vision problem, with the conundrum on it while Richard began to flap his arms trying to alert people to the fact that the conundrum was yet to be revealed. Luckily Richard solved the conundrum so there were no bitter recriminations. Well, Richard didn't get an easy run and yet again we've had another good contestant who, at the very least, deserved to have a teapot.

Watching all these really really good contestants effectively cut each others' throats is sad in a way since it deprives some excellent contestants a place in the finals but on the other hand isn't it bloody brilliant? :D

He's right you know. Although he is also prejudiced - against Gevin.

I wasn't really paying attention at the conundrum, so I missed them explaining about her vision and the card. What a balls-up though, there's no way they could have allowed that to stand if she had got it first, surely? Although it would have been funny watching Richard seethe :)
