The collapse of the recap writer for 2-3 weeks or however long it was seems to have put a period of inactivity on the recaps.

I have been storing the info and am doing some that others haven't done yet, but they are coming on, slowly......

I thought we had multiple recap writers ... so they've all collapsed?

(I'd volunteer myself, but knowing me I'd probably fall behind with it.)

For the meantime, where's the best place to start discussions of things referred to on individual Countdown episodes? For example:

• the words the contestants or DC came up with (or didn't)
• whether a word should have been allowed or not
• something mentioned in the chat at the beginning, the guest anecdote, or OoW

You can always use the spoilers threads.

The downtime for the recap writer has meant that on its return to life, people had 3 or more recaps to catch up on and so now have to find the time to do them, and that assuming they have kept them all on Sky Plus, as they are only on 4OD for a month.
We will get through them somehow, but in the meantime I'm afraid a degree of patience is called for.

I could probably do the odd recap although only for shows that are still on 4OD and for today onwards as I've deleted the rest from my Humax.

No, but I'm sure I can work it out. I thought I'd seen a guide for writing recaps somewhere but I can't seem to find it now.

Go to the main recap page, and hit the "How to do a recap" option, the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

OK. I'll get onto that, probably on Thursday.

One thing that occurs to me is that writing the recap involves duplication of effort: you could generate most of a recap from the game data used by the game page on the Countdown wiki.
