Hello and welcome to another Friday recap. :) Following the takeover by the G G's last week, it's back to business this week, and yesterday saw the emergence of yet another apterite. Tom Cappleman has quite a CV in the TV world, having previously been on University Challenge as well as a previous appearance on Countdown, and yesterday he showed he means business this time round with an excellent score of 115 in his first game. How will he fare today against Sharon Hagger? Enjoy.

A great start for Tom with POLENTAS for 8, while Sharon only gets PLANTS for 6.

Tom drops points on the numbers. :shock: Shock, horror. But he still got 7 with his 858 for 2 away as Sharon was nowhere near.

Tom buzzes on 1 second to say ECONOMIZE which is correct.
Final Score: 117–51 (max 123)

Another master class by Tom Cappleman, who is looking solid after 2 games. His scores are strong and he's looking like he could very well be a contender for number 1 seed. Of course he still has 6 games to get through, but if early signs are anything to go by he's looking good. Sharon put up a good fight at times today but couldn't match the strength of Tom here. A second consecutive 1 second conundrum as well shows the first was no fluke.

I wonder if Ms S.Hagger ever encounters any humour related to her name. Can't imagine why she would.
