I hope you can me a very warm welcome for your first ever brand new recappers which is obviously me! :) Sean Fletcher currently got 6 wins but can he stretch another one against our super apterite Samir Pilica who is currently ranked 1300s. Can Samir stop him for a chance to make almost guarantee for Quarter Final? Let's find out and should be good game!

C1: Sean Fletcher (6 wins)

R1:- N C M I O F T A R
Sean (8)- FRACTION
Samir (8)- FRACTION
DC:- FRACTION (8), CONFIRM (7), MANIOC (6)
Score: 8-8 (max 8)

A strong start for both contenders! MANIOC is another term for Cassava which mean the starchy tuberous root of a tropical tree, used in tropical countries

R2:- B S D L U E I E X
Samir (6) BLEEDS
Sean (6) EXILED
DC:- EDIBLES (7)
Score:- 14-14 (max 15)

R3:- 75 7 6 4 7 3
Sean (888) not written down :- (3 x 4) x 75 - (7-6)
Samir (887)
RR:- (75 X 3) - (7-6) X 4 - 7
Score:- 21-14 (max 25)

Nice solution by Sean but obviously not perfect and take a bow to Rachel with great solution! Well done Sean for taking 7 points lead!

TT:- CUTALAME >>> MACULATE

R4:- T N R Y O E S A U
Samir (7) SENATOR
Sean (7) ESTUARY
DC:- TOURNEYS (8)
Score:- 28-21 (max 33)

Samir might kicked himself for not spot Tourneys as the apterites usually playing tourney in apterous but it can be tough to spot so no need to point finger. The score is remain the same

R5:- N V B I E O C T S
Sean (7) NOTICES
Samir (7) SECTION
DC:- NOVICES (7), BONIEST (7), BOVINES (7)
Score:- 35-28 (max 40)

Well done Sean and Samir to earn a max round. Samir will have lots of section to do to try overtake the lead.

R6:- 75 6 5 1 4 5 >>> 336
Samir (336) (75 x 4) + (6 x 5) + (5+1)
Sean (336) (75 x 4) + (5+1) x 6
Score:- 45-38 (Max 50)

Very easy number round and give 10 points to both of the contenders

R7:- T P A D R O I N E
Samir (9) PREDATION
Sean (6) PARDON
Score:- 45-56 (max 68)

An easy spot by Apterites for PREDATION as usually come up in Apterous! Samir eventually know he have lots of work to do and he now manage 18 points overtake and currently in 11 point lead!

R8:- TRLMOEAHI
Sean (7) THERMAL
Samir (7) HEMIOLA
DC:- ARMHOLE (7), Susie looked AIRHOLE for 7 but does not in dictionary
Score:- 52-63 (max 75)

Great word by Samir! HEMIOLA is a musical figure which typically two groups of three beats are replaced by three groups of two beats, effectively give the shift between triple and duple metre

R9:- 2 7 1 1 6 4 >>> 487
Sean (nothing)
Samir (nothing)
RR: (impossible)
Score: 52- 63 (max 82)

A big gamble for Sean to choose 6 smalls to try to keep the game still open but sadly it doesn't work as very tricky to make perfection and i only got 4 away.
I put (6+1) x 7 x (5-1) x 2 make 490.

SARAHPAT >>> PARATHAS....is a Indian cookery with a flat piece of unleavened bread fried on a griddle, opposed Naan which is a leavened bread.

R10:- R D L R A E I A Q
Samir (6) RAIDER
Sean (6) DERAIL
DC:- LARDIER (7)
Score:- 58-69 (max 89)

Samir and Sean missed out of darrenic 7 which is LARDIER (Lardy)

R11:- D N L O E S D A S
Sean (7) SADDLES
Samir (7) SADDENS
DC: LASSOED (7), OLDNESS (7)
Score 65-76 (max 96)

Samir and Sean managed nice sevens and look like it should have darrenic 8 but found nothing unfortunately

R12:- G S J V U I E M S
Samir (6) JUVIES
Sean (5) GIVES
DC: GUISES (6)
Score 65-82 (max 102)

Another fantastic word by Samir, who was spotted JUVIES, means a youth especially one involved in a disorder or criminal offences. Samir have stretch an extending lead which is now 17 points lead. Sean have mountain to climb to get correct number round before game over if Samir doesn't get the exact target. Let find out!

R13:- T R O E H S G A N
Sean (8) SHORTAGE
Samir (8) NEGATORS
DC:- RAGSTONE (8)
OTT:- STAGHORN (8)
Score:- 73-90 (max 110)

Nice couple of eights by the contenders and seem like 9 has been hidden but not this time. Also it is certianly game over for Sean and will he through quater final depends on other competitors willing beat him in leaderboard. However, STAGHORN is the antler of stag used to make handles for knives and walking sticks

R14:- 100 75 5 2 7 2 >>> 395
Samir (395) (2+2) x 100 -5
Sean (395) (2+2) x 100 - 5
Score 83-100 (max 120)

Easy number round for both contenders and Samir have just hit the jackpot to become a century now! Big applause to Samir

Conundrum:- PILLAPANG
Sean buzzed for 4 seconds and answer "That how i feel now" APPALLING and he sensed correctly

FINAL SCORE:- 93-100 (max 130)

That is great game for both contenders and you will have to appreciate for Samir who is looking nervous in the studio and cope his nerves well! Looking forward to see how Samir doing in next game and will he be good enough to become octochamp? we'll be waiting for you and you'll be sure of it! Good Afternoon

Cheers Ciaran.

A couple of things - there's no total points for the previous winner, no target for the first numbers, and the order of players in the round keeps changing. But not too bad for a first go :)

Just out of interest, where do you get the total points from, or does every recap writer manually work it out? I also think it would be just as useful (more useful) to have their total including the game being recapped at the end of the recap, but for some reason it isn't the done thing.
