Prague Mind Sports Festival

Post by Andrew Hulme »

Not posted for ages butj ust wondered if anyone from here was going to this? Seems reasonably likely, I'm going to be there for the concurrently running Poker Festival anyway so might decide to donate some money to some of the Mind Sports prizepools too.

Hope to see you some of you there in December, or in a future event.

The Scrabble element is well backed, with some big news to come in the next week or so which will be of particular interest to this forum.

Here's the Scrabble part of the site:

The first big public release about the Scrabble (very swanky board worth over 20 grand, it uses RFID technology to enable top notch media coverage) on Facebook:

The bit you folks will be particularly interested in will be tomorrow morning.

The news item is finally up. Most of it is about the £20,000+ smart board (which will interest the more technically minded among us).

Of more interest is the bit towards the end announcing Rachel Riley's participation.

Here are the full details of the Scrabble:

As you can see there are 1,000 euros going towards new players and I don't think we have any new players just yet. So along with the other 9,000 euros of prizes and all of the other stuff I hope it attracts a few people from here to take part.

I fly out November 30th and should I get knocked out on day 1 of my first poker tournament, I'll be entering the scrabble tournament. Im pretty useless at it but may as well!

Cool, make sure you've got a card with you if you want to enter the main event. There's an Early Bird event (1st December, Saturday morning) and an Elimination Event (4th December all-day, Tuesday) as well which are more flexible.
