Name A Room In My House Competition

Post by Charlie Reams »

So, we recently moved house and we have this room. It doesn't have a name and it needs one. To give you an idea, it has sofas, a TV with various video games consoles attached (including a Wii as of today), a dartboard (I don't have one in my bedroom) and a table tennis table (once we manage to get it in through the door.) Within my household, debate has raged over suitable names for this room. I thought I would turn to C4C, my greatest repository of wisdom, for advice.

Some rejected candidates:
- Games room (too obvious. Also "too common" according to my mum.)
- Family room (too twee.)
- The room with all that stuff in (current working title, unwieldy.)

Better suggestions welcome. Winner might well be announced on a future podcast, in addition to the obvious pride and prestige associated with naming a room in my house.

Awesome, wish I'd come up with that. You could call it the billiards/snooker room, since that makes you sound less common, and will be hilarious and ironic and we'd all laugh and you'd be asked to be prime minister.

Edit: CF (the wife) suggests the (hey did you know we're not) Common Room.

(I see what he did there)

The boring one is the recreation room but other more eccentric (perhaps) ones could be:

Horseplay room
Frivolity room (or Frivolroom)

or, my personal fave,

The room of tomfoolery (who is Tom Foolery I hear you cry)

If it was a kinda round/ovoidal room you could call it the amphitheatre.

You want a name that we associate with a Wii, a prick (as in dartboard) and a couple of small white balls (as in table tennis)
No, can't think of anything

Late Edit: How about The Members' Room
