Reading down the page they have an example contestant by the name “Joe Blow” - for some reason that has made me very happy.

Well, "Deal or No Deal" will be in daytime in the US starting next year.

You may recognize our host. Howie Mandel is one of the stars of "St. Elsewhere," which is a medical drama that comes on late at night on Channel 4 in England and precedes, ironically, a rerun of "Countdown" every day with Des O'Connor. I can't remember what time that block starts, but I know it starts after midnight.

Howie had a full head of hair on "St. Elsewhere," but he shaved it off on "Deal or No Deal" because he has OCD.

Oh I see! I didn't actually realise DOND wasn't on in the daytime over there already - is it on every weeknight currently?

I think that, going from another thread, many of us on here aren't exactly DOND fans. I can see why it's your kinda show though Jason.

I did think Howie looked familiar too, which is odd as I've never seen St Elsewhere. I might be mistaking him for someone else.

Howie was on the first US revival of "Make Me Laugh" back in 1979, then he was on "St. Elsewhere." He had his own daytime talk show which didn't last very long and now he's on "Deal or No Deal."

"Deal or No Deal" is now on NBC here, the same network that originally broadcasts "Friends" and "Frasier" twice every week usually.
