Ties and Belts

Post by Jon O'Neill »

Can anybody think of a creative way I can store my 20 ties and 10 belts? Currently I have the belts fastened around the coathanger rail in my wardrobe and my ties balanced on a coathanger. It's crap. Help me, intelligent minds of c4c.

You've just taken away my tie suggestion.

Erm, kitchen drawer?

Attach a rod (or 2) to the inside of the wardrobe door?

I like this idea, largely as it could double as a slow-action iron maiden (er, wooden maiden, perhaps) if ever you need to dispose of someone. :)

Buy a proper coathanger made for it. M&S do them, and Next, Ikea etc. They're about 4 quid. They're also all over the place in men's departments in the run up to Christmas, so buy your Dad one too ;) (He'll be thrilled  )

You can buy, or make, a hook with hooks on for hanging belts by their buckles. The top hook would be like that on a coathanger to hook over the bar and the other hooks could be very small - perhaps running down a chunk of wood that has the big hook in the top.

Jon O'Neill - never knowingly underaccessorised.

(I've just checked my wardrobe and I own 5 ties and 5 belts, so I have less of a problem than Jon. All the ties are stored round the hanger on which I've got one of my suit jackets. The belts are coiled up and stored on a shelf.)

I honestly don't know how I ended up with so much. I don't even wear ties, and I have like two belts that I wear regularly.

There's your answer. Chuck the rest away.

Yeah. I'm such a hoarder. But I love storing things, and I have a lot of stuff to store. I'd like to keep it that way. Plus you never know when an occasion might call for a white and green striped tie with a tan belt.
