Anyone ever hung out in Venice/Bologna?

Post by Andy Wilson »

I'm heading over with a couple of mates to see a gig in Bologna on 2nd Sept and aside from the obvious, don't really know much about the places, so if anyone's ever spent any time over there and can recommend stuff to do/see/places to stay on the cheap, i'd love to hear from you.

Weekend in Bologna is one of my favourite films if that's any use.

PS Not suitable for < 18.

Hanging out in Bologna pretty much sums it up.

I've done a little Venice, Andy. Um, can't be arsed to type now. I'll speak to you before September though, for sure. :)

Venice - get a day pass for the vaporettos, water-buses. Unlimited travel, Grand Canal or little backwaters, take your pick. (And your map.)

In St Mark's Square in Venice it is better, if pissed, not to fall asleep on a bench or you may be woken up and moved on threateningly by police with swords. At least I was in 1956.

My mum and dad went to Italy for their 25th wedding anniversary and Venice was one place they stayed. They bored the life out of me with their hours and hours of video footage of their gondola rides and this guy serenading my mum, but Venice looked a nice place. Lots of water.

I hear it's wet alright. I won't feed the Gondolas anyway.

I heard Venice stinks. Or maybe that's just in Summer. Never been though.
