What's your ringtone?

Post by Marc Meakin »

While I am bored, stuck in hospital waiting for an Aortic valve replacement I was wondering whether you forumites had any interesting or apt ringtones.
Obviously mine is currently Achy, Breaky, Heart. :)

I used to put my favourite songs as my ringtones but I stopped doing that because I started assosciating them with debt collectors getting on my case, so I just stick to the default ringtone now.

Whenever I get a new phone (which is about once every 4 years, I think), I try and find the ring tone that is closest to just a 'normal' ring tone (like what your home phone would ring like or whatever). I've noticed this has got harder to do the more recently I've had a phone, but since I only have about 3 data points, is probably not that significant a result.

My ringtone is the one it came with which is called 'Sony Ericsson'. It's ok but I always think of changing it to a song although the trouble is I don't know how to put songs on to my phone. It came with a cable and on the box it said MP3 so I know it can play music but I'm just not great with phones and I'm too lazy to read the instructions.

I've got a decent little clip of the fucking cool burst at the start of the fucking cool Soil & "Pimp" Sessions' fucking cool track A.I.E. - here's them playing it on Jools Holland.

I've only got it because a mate made it for himself and I blueteefed it off him. I am constantly hearing things in songs, cartoons, video games and the like that I go "Yes! That'd make an awesome ringtone!" to, but I'm too lazy to get round to ripping and splicing audio.

Mine's on vibrate as it's the only stimulation I get.

And now of course it goes the other way too; our office phone has a "ringtone" of "Are you there? Are you there? Are you there? Are you there? Are you there? Are you there? (etc)" which doesn't improve our mood as much as you might think.

Ha, you have the same office phones as we do! That's globalisation for you.

Me too. We should swap numbers and give each other missed calls.

Go with the flow as my ringtone and a Mister T-esque message alert which is funny when it goes off at inappropriate moments

The beginning of "Whisky in the Jar" by Thin Lizzy. One of the all time great guitar riffs.
"It's KNACKERED Nick!"
