The Iron Mike Thread

Post by Richard Brittain »

This thread is dedicated to the legendary boxer Mike Tyson, a great sportsman and a man of God.

I love watching his interviews as much as his fights. Here are two, of many, classics:

Broken back.

Interview with Dermot Murnaghan last month.

That is one of the best things I've ever heard. I like the way he properly BELIEVED at the start and then (presumably based on the interviewer's reaction) backed down a bit later, describing how his doctor said that his back "is broken slightly", which could easily have just been intended to mean "not working 100%".

Didn't he once threaten to eat someone's kids too?

That's great, despite the dire questioning of Kermit O'Dreary. Maximum respect to Mikey T.

I recommend the program 'Tyson Raw + Uncut' showing on ESPN Classic, which chronicles every one of Tyson's fights.

No one knows who you are really, "Gevin", we see you every day, you ain't never been in no adversity where we can see if you're weak or strong. But if I put my magnifying glass on you, I'm sure we're gonna find out something you wouldn't want us to know about you.
