I gave it 10 seconds, it was boring. Who was it?

Haha, excellent. Took a couple of minutes to load but was well worth the wait. From a technological wizardry point of view it certainly blows those "elf yourself" type sites out of the water.

I've already sent versions to a couple of people I know.

There's another one here. Not as clever, because it doesn't involve a photo, but it has a Christmas theme and you can put names, ages and other stuff into it. Your son would probably like it at least: http://portablenorthpole.tv/home/

That's lovely Lesley.

There is another fun interactive Christmas site here - and this one even has Countdown in the title!
Possibly a bit young for other forum members though.

Lesley and anyone else with kids (or any big kids on here), now is the time to be doing this, as the countdown has actually begun, and now it is tracking Santa across the world!

My little one and I did this on Christmas Eve and the absolute belief of a 3yo waiting for Santa and seeing where he was in the world (even the ISS) was an utter joy to behold. He loved it. Please don't tell him!

How about this?

Kirk Bevins, I hope you don't click this link.

"Don't call him a meatball or he'll be insulted. Marching from Seattle to Cleveland all the way to Sweden, here he is, our hero!"
