A little lighthearted poem

Post by Jason Larsen »

As many of you know, I had an ailment which was unknown to me a few months ago only because I had never had this kind of pain before. Those of you who remember how my health is now haven't forgotten. Even the people who didn't know about it hope my health continues to be good.

I just found this poem online, and I am keeping this topic open because I wish to use the poem for good luck. Therefore, I am not locking this topic. I was tickled when I read it. And no, I did not write it.

Here it is.

A kidney stone
A thing so small
Is hardly worth a mention
Unless your trying to pass the things
They quickly get your attention
There is a cure
I promise you
That this is not a joke
Puree a bunch of asparagus
And chase with a liter of coke

Hope things are OK for you, Jason.
Reminds me of a childhood memory some 60 years ago(!) when I discovered my Auntie Rene had a load of stones removed (gaul?) and used to keep them in a jar in her pantry - daft or what - I guess it runs in the family.

I had no idea that asparagus and coke were suggested as a possible "cure" for kidney stones.
But I see on the internet that it is quite a widespread idea.
I love asparagus.

Whoever wrote it obviously wasn't the most intellectual in the world.

Then how do you explain what I've been doing for the last half-hour?

Not sure if you missed it or you were just getting even. Correct response:
What? That guy from Siddley?
