I know this is morbid, but what is c4c for? This isn't Facebook!

Looking ay my friends list, I believe that two of them have died. Well, two definitely have, but I don't think any others have. One was a manager where I used to work who was in her 60s (I don't know how she died, but she always seemed very unhealthy - looked old for her age and smoked loads), and one was someone I knew from university who was actually a bit younger than me - he died of bowel cancer.

One of my Facebook friends died last year, but I unfriended him. Is that bad form?

Only if it was after they died

I've had two die and unfriended them both very soon afterwards. It helped however that I had never met either in person. I'm unsure of what my strategy would be if my partner died.

That's what was done for my brother in law.

Looks like three for me. Two mates and an uncle. Don't see the point of unfriending them. It's not like they're gonna clog up my time line with posts.

Wasn't it the case a while ago that you couldn't delete profiles?

Three for me. All of them taken way too young and in three different but consistently sad circumstances.

2 (that I can think of), both from school Both went to 'remembering' profiles. Not unfriending cause there'll be memories of them on their pages, and one of them died recently so people keep tagging her in fundraising things in her memory.

Also still have one (a countdowner) coming up in the suggested friends bit because another countdowner suggested it and neither of us accepted. Most of you can probably tell who these two are.

One, I think - a guy who I met in Mostar in 2014. He fell from a mountain he was climbing in Italy, a few days before his 23rd birthday

One of mine would have had her 30th birthday today, good timing Gevin!

One of my friends now has a remembrance page thing, but the other one is still just a normal page.

Just found out my stepdaughter has 12 friends who have died, thinking of unfriending her just to be sure

It's more that I didn't really want to see their names again. This mirrors my attitude towards death in general, as alluded to here - I understand the melodrama but I don't particularly want to see it. I'm a clean breaks guy.

But, as above, I wasn't especially close to these people, and I'd probably stop being a clean breaks guy if I was. Don't know yet, luckily.

Sometimes I send them a message to ask how the after-life is for them. They never reply.
