It might just be an artefact of the photographic process. I mean, even if they faked everything else, they certainly had satellites that could've taken a half-decent picture of the Earth.

Plus, surely the distance to the horizon would be shorter on the moon than it is on the Earth. I don't think you'd be able to see for more than a couple of miles.

Now THAT's a fake. No way is the moon that close to Earth. FFSRB

So just to confirm, you're claiming there's a conspiracy to broadcast "satellite" television from a global network of ground masts?

As for the non-existence of satellites, that should be easy enough to test:

1) Take 1 satphone.
2) Sail to middle of the ocean.
3) See whether it works.

Oh wait, loads of people have actually done that. I guess all sailers are also in on the conspiracy. Crazy world huh?

This site should explain everything about the supposed moon landings.

I believe that picture was painted by J.F. Kennedy, who faked his own death so that he could go on to fake the moon landings.

If the picture's a fake and no-one's been to the moon, how do we know it isn't made out of plastic?

Richard_Brittain wrote:I don't think the common sailor is in on the conspiracy, that's an absurd suggestion. You clearly want to believe in the existence of satellites, Reams. Look with your head, not your heart.
Which part of your body allows you to reconcile the non-existence of satellites with the variety of technologies that would need them (e.g satphones)? I have a suggestion but hey, this is a family forum.

I wonder what section of the population could possibly be behind this conspiracy.

What I find humorous is that NASA, with all its space experts and money and that (plus clearly having bugger all else to do since nothing can leave the earth), can't come up with a convincing fake that a lonely teenage virgin can't easily pick apart in seconds.

Sorry Richard, I actually like you but I cannot take you remotely seriously. To me you are just another 18/19 year old extremist: when I was your age I was an anarcho-syndicalist planning the demise of world capitalism and centrally organised government.

I'm with David. I like you a lot, Richard, and I have a lot of respect for your mission to think freely and not believe everything you hear. However disbelieving everything you hear is just as untenable and it pains me to see you posting such nonsense here. If you really disbelieve in satellites then there are plenty of experiments you can conduct to test it out. That would be using your head.

Richard just hit me with a private torrent of abuse and, as you can see, has deleted all of his posts. I guess that means I win the argument?

No, I wouldn't do that. I'm still hopeful that he'll calm down a bit and rejoin us.

Ahem. Let me break it down. You see there's this guy called Patrick Moore who plays the xylophone...

Maybe Patrick Moore's xylophone is made out of original moon plastic?
