People who call Leonardo Da Vinci just "Leonardo" rather than "Da Vinci", when clearly this only came about because of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Anyone who thinks that BoJo is a viable candidate for thw Tory election. Am not a Tory supporter, but I'd root for Rory Stewart to get the job which will not happen.

People who set their clocks fast. I've never understood anyone who has done this because they all know that it's 5, 10, or whatever minutes fast, which surely defeats the point. If I set my clock 20 minutes fast and it said 7:00, I wouldn't be thinking "it's 7 o'clock", I'd be thinking "it's 6:40" because I'd consciously subtract 20 minutes. My sister has her's about half an hour fast and it's always really bugged me because I fail to see any point to it - she knows it's half an hour fast so she knows that if she needs to leave at 7, it's the same as when her clock says 7:30.

I suppose the thinking is that it makes you think it's later than it is so you get a move on and makes you early for things! But obviously, it's difficult to see someone really managing to fool themselves with such a cheap trick, and even if it works initially, they would get used to e.g. 7:00 = 6:40. However, you could have a clock that's set to randomly go to between 0 and 30 minutes fast during each night. That way you'd have to take it seriously (because it might not be fast at all), and more often than not you'd find yourself with some extra time.

Or you could just get up on time in the mornings.

I would like to agree with this, but, having been consistently deceived by the wind up clock in my beaten up mark VI Escort for the better part of six years, thus proving that the concept actually works, I cannot.

If you ask for someone's PI number though they might just say 3.14159, which isn't going to advance your career as a fraudster much.

Someone once rung up and said

“Hello it’s Steve from Halifax your card has expired and to renew it I need the 1st and 3rd digits of your security pin” and I said “go away” and I put the phone down

This was obviously a scam.

What's worse is when someone reads a number back to you differently so that it sounds like a completely different number.

"Is your phone number...?"

"I don't know. Read it out properly and we'll find out."
