So, we have returned following the mini Summer break, and with no more breaks in the near future, we can enjoy Countdown to the full for the time being.

Gemma Church is our current champion with 3 wins under her belt, so she could become the 3rd octochamp of the series, following on from Glen & Dylan, should she avoid defeat this week, although she might have to do it the hard way, as her 8th opponent on Friday is scheduled to be our very own Jen Steadman. So, it could be an interesting and exciting all-female finale to the week on Friday, if things go the way we want them to.

Nicki Chapman continues her stint in DC for today and tomorrow, before the triple jump world record holder, Jonathan Edwards, takes over on Wednesday.

Graeme will be around with the recap (when he's got some free time from all the other stuff he's doing ) later.

Interesting in round 4 that Gemma missed ROMANISE today but spotted it on the show that went out on the 19th August - in fact that was exactly the same selection but with a Z instead of the S (which makes it easier to spot -IZE words I guess)

Round 13 - it had more than a dozen 8s available.

I was sure Gemma was fishing for the A in round 1 to make virgates - but I was wrong.

I missed the second numbers and the 9 and the 6 that DC missed in the 5s round, round 8, but happy with a 12 max 105.
