Spoilers for Wednesday October 3rd 2012 (Series 67 Prelim 42

Post by Jordan F »

Sorry for the near lateness. Adam Flinn goes for his 4th win today, and as I can see now, it's against apterite Tia Corkish. Can he do it?

James will recap later.

First of all, well done to Tia for getting a win for apterous.

Secondly, I know Tia is not the first Canadian contestant, but is she the first Canadian champion?

Well done Tia!

How does someone to have achieved as much as Fiennes has, and so publically, think he can get away with that wig?

EULOGIST (round 3) and CATLIKE (round 9?) for a couple of beaters.

Last numbers: 25x10+100+(7x7) = 399

Good performance by Tia like others have said. She looks capable of winning a few more.

This is the first episode I've caught in forever, which leads me to this:

and is it just me who finds his Corner contributions weirdly rubbish? Admittedly I've only watched one of his shows, but most of the time Nick would ask DC and he'd just grunt the word they got, and nothing else.

Very impressive performance from Tia I thought, more to come I'd think :)

I think so, the only other Canadian that I can think of who has been on the show was Ryan Vickers, who of course lost to Ryan Taylor in S61.

But, very well done, Tia. A very good performance today.

ARBITER/RAREBIT in round 4, GAITERED in round 7, NANOBES in round 8, UPSTREAM/TEMPURAS in round 12.

2nd Numbers Alt.: ((5 x 100) + (4 x 3)) / 2 = 256

I had TEMPURAS in R12 too, but checked it on apterous and it says it is invalid :-(

Does it satisfy Susie's "I'll have two Tempuras please" restaurant rule?

Either way - probably safer to stay UPSTREAM of any debate.

Well done to Tia.

Well, in fairness, I used my personal knowledge to include it, on the basis that Eddie McCullagh had it accepted in S64, just as the new OED was being used, so I decided to accept it for that reason alone. :geek:

Good call, I think. I'll submit a Dictionary Error ticket when apterous returns!

The food rule is non-sensical, to be honest.
