Spoilers for Tuesday February 7th (Series 66 Prelim 22)

After what one might call a Ladies Afternoon on Countdown yesterday, Victoria James came out on top, disposing of Jocelyn in...not the most impressive fashion, but a successful fashion none the less. Can she keep her success going? Kate Humble is still in dictionary corner, and this is my first time seeing her so I can't make a joke until I figure out whether I like her or not. Also, after over a year of the casual Wiki viewer learning about Martin Gardner, there's a new featured article on there, making me happy enough to actually use a smiley that is not inspired by a parody of James' posts:

Nobody got that numbers game? Looked easy to me:
50 × (8 + 4) - 7 × 3
But Rachel's way is cleverer.

OGREISH is there in round 4, which DC missed. Haven't got a word that DC missed for a while now, I think. So that's cool.

That was actually the only word I missed today
Victoria was slightly better today, but for working in payroll, her numbers is pretty shocking. (Well, the last one especially.)
MASJID in round 1, RITENUTO in round 8 and SOLDERER in round 12.
1st Numbers Alt.: (50 x (8 + 3)) + (9 x 4) - 7 =
579

I work in the same room as our small payroll bureau. A conversation today went like this:-
Junior - "I can't get this to balance"
Manager - "It looks like you've done it all right"...went through workings..."four fours are 24. Hmmm I can't see what is wrong."
Me - "Are you sure four fours are 24?"
Manager - "Oh yeah"
So i'm not surprised really. (50 x 6) - 75 +7 was my way for the last numbers round.
