Spoilers for Wed 24 Sept

Post by Mark Kudlowski »

Alternative solution to first numbers game:

4, 2, 1, 7, 10, 3 - target 930

(7 x 4) + 2 + 1 = 31; 31 x 10 x 3 = 930

2nd numbers alternative (5 - 2) x 100 + (6 x 10) - 1 = 359.

Thought I'd post on this thread as the other one we've got for today's already got 2 posts! :)

Surprised no one has posted LIMONITE as a double DC beater yet, given its starring role at CONOT '08.

Alternative solution for second numbers game:

1, 2, 5, 6, 10, 100 - target 359

(5-2) x 100 = 300; 300 + (6 x 10) - 1 = 359

It's the original and best. In the interests of Fell disclosure, I missed RIDEABLE/BLEARIER, SULPHIDE, PISCINAE and BRIEFED, so not my best day ever. Junaid was quite impressive, needs to work on his poker face though.

Yeah, I missed a few too. I beat Junaid on his debut but he's kicked my butt ever since. :(

Yeah haha, if I hadn't got the nine already I would certainly have been suspicious when he started checking out the ceiling on 20 seconds. I suppose some might find him a little smug but, with a score like that, I think he can be forgiven a certain amount of self-indulgence.

Fell Corner: I missed RIDEABLE and didn't even know PISCINAE.

Glad it wasn't just me who was arse today though I bet you didn't miss the three nines in the last couple of days like I did.

Paul has already posted it. I was pleased today with my 14/15 maxes, getting LIMONITE and PISCINAE. I missed SULPHIDE sadly. Nearly there...

There were two spoilers topics today, but I since merged them.

Another here for LIMONITE. The spare letter was a J so it was an exact replica/caliper of The first Goatdown round at CONOT 08.

Self-flagellation corner: Junaid handed my arse to me on the first 2 numbers and also in rd 13 like a nob I spotted SHANDIES and then left the room thinking it would be the max! Serves me right. On the chemistry frontier I also missed SULPHIDE :x and RHENIUM against Corby on Apterous :x :x

Don't beat yourself up mate, it wouldn't have made any difference... ;)

I was watching in "cram the whole show into 5 minutes" mode so I did the same thing with SHANDIES too :(
