"We don't have many words with three vowels on this programme."

How will the new presenter compete with such wisdom?

[PS John Sergeant says "METEORS for an easy 7" after both contestants got six. What a guy! I assume his contestant application is in the post.]

MOILED was a DC beater in round 12.

I also had BLUEISH in round 11 but NEBULISE was a great spot from DC!

I'd never noticed how amazing he was before. I also liked the ARTICHOKE round where he mentioned it as just another word and Susie had to chip in that it was a 9.

And the one where he'd obviously been primed that a Countdown favourite had come up, but then said LODESTAR rather than LEOTARDS. Susie actually reached out and touched his arm in desperation.

Haha, yes, I thought there was something else. His attempt at humour (?) with the second numbers was pretty good, too.

Was pretty pleased to spot ARTICHOKE at the last minute. Also on the chemistry frontier: I had FORMATES in one round (but then we fell out and now I only have 3  )

In summary I thought today was an enjoyable game with quite a few spaz moments from Des and John Sergeant. I also think Samira seems like a nice girl with decent ability at the game and would like to see her go further. However if she wins tomorrow we'll be hanging on for a while to find out :(

Well done for spotting ARTICHOKE Dinos, I was nowhere near that. And I have to agree with all the comments re John Sergeant - I used to like him but he's not done a lot for his image during this run (one moment that hasn't been discussed is his making fun of his Polish cleaner's accent earlier in the week, thereby showing in one fell swoop that a) he's a posh git and b) he's condescending towards his social 'inferiors'. Not a good combination...)

PS Charlie, watch out making comments like that about Des O - Damian'll get you :o

I'm pretty sure Damian has a sense of humour. It's obvious what Deso meant (3 of the same vowel) but the misspeak amused me.
