I didn't spot any DC beaters, I only got the 3rd numbers and I thought the conundrum was GRIPPANCE .

DAZINESS? I don't think so but it sounds right. I also had BIOTOPE in one of the rounds

That's good news for Cullen and Hanks then, as that's two games gone without someone winning 4 or more games.dinos_the_chemist wrote:Shit. The fit Cambridge bird lost

If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

BIOTOPE in round 7, ASSIZE in round 8. Shame to see Philippa lose.

I bet it was, Rich. You were hoping to get to meet her in the finals weren't you.Rich Priest wrote:Shame to see Philippa lose.
I rather liked her giggle when the first three letters in one of the rounds she was selecting were PMT.
And after she came up with GROPES in round 11, my mind started wandering.
For round 10, my method was essentially the same as Carol's, though I interchanged the 2 and the 10/5. As a result I went for the more spectacular route of
(50 + 2) x 10 x 8 = 4160, and then divided by 5 to give the required answer.

Re: Spoilers for Thursday, 15th May
I was actually in the audience when this show was being filmed and saw Phillippa (lucky me). When Des came to the audience to see who had the conundrum, I was the only one to have my hand up. They were about to come to me when Des said he couldn't see me as I was hidden by cameras. They never came to me anyway and went to the challenger as he said he'd now spotted RECAPPING (I'm not sure what came up in the final edit as I missed the show). Shame - I was *so* close to being on Countdown again!
Oh, Ross apologised to me afterwards for nicking my limelight and Dudley said he'd get me a mug for getting RECAPPING but he never did. Hmph!
