I happened to notice the the final score of 66-71 came up on screen - I think during Susie's talk at the end of the second half. Is this normal (I don't watch it that much now)? So is it not all shown in the order it's filmed?

That was a re-take.

*from now on is going to use a hyphen in ALL words starting with re...*

Just lost it today, quite simply. reenacts wasn't there and then i didn't think gonners through properly (i'd seen congers but dismissed it, foolishly), and then my mind went blank for the following numbers.

Replaying today, I beat myself by 50 points...

Yeah to be honest that wasn't a good performance from you, but still I think six wins may be enough to make the finals. There are 31 shows left by my count, thanks to Damian's advice. So while it's possible that three players will pass you to make the finals, it's not all that likely. But I think the finals have already been filmed so to you it's retrospective and to us it's still going to happen.

If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

SARCENET was missed by DC I think.

Yes it was. Pity Benji's REENACTS wasn't allowed :(.

I wonder, what colour will Benji's hair be for the QF's (or does Benji already know what hes going to colour it :D).

Hiyo,

R8: ANCESTRY as a beater..

I'd been exploring someone's ancestry just before playing... that might have helped.

I managed to get the following of note:

Round 6: SMOKABLE (8) - DC beater
Round 8: SARCENET (8), ANCESTRY (8) - DC beaters (7s that are never the maximum!!)
Round 9 : ENCORES (7) - DC equaller.

That's all I think.

Thanks
Kirk

I didn't watch the game, but looking at the recap, it looked a very tough game. I haven't even heard of 'congers' or 'fronded'. A lot of the maximums available in the letters rounds were tricky, obscure words, and the first two numbers rounds were quite mental. You must be annoyed with failing to get the 10 points in the last numbers round though, because that one wasn't too hard and would have given you the game considering you got the conundrum.

The finals are being filmed at the end of this month. I think there are only 20-something shows left rather than 31 but I may have that totally wrong.

I disagree with both of you. I make it 32 more shows. That's assuming a day doesn't get taken up with some sporting irrelevance.
Well done with your run, Benji. Hope you do make it to the finals. It'll add some colour.

I've just watched the programme over breakfast, and also noticed the final score being displayed early.

Do you mean the end of April or the end of May?

I meant May which makes for a pretty stupid post from me: not the first, won't be the last.

Similarly, I watched it last night after the football (UP THE SAINTS) and the final score was displayed quite late - almost midnight in fact.

Without a doubt I think Ben will be in the finals.

If there are 32 days then thats enough for 4 octochamps or 4 7-games-6-wins players (if I have worked that out right), which although is possible, I don't think that will happen.

Yeah, looking at the current seed table, I think Ben would be pretty unlucky not to make the finals. I think it is quite likely that there will be about another two 5+ winners, so I don't think Jason Cullen or Matthew Coates will make it. Ben will probably qualify in 7th or 8th position. The best seed positions to be in would be 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th, to avoid meeting David 'The Dark Destroyer' O'Donnell until the final.

JaCu, I think you are going to be in the finals without a doubt :D.

EDIT: For all you know, you could get through to the finals, play against David and win :P.
