Spoilers For Monday November 2nd 2009
Before I start today's spoilers, I'd like to say HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY, COUNTDOWN! (Still the best game show on TV at the moment.)
Right, we've got a new champ, new challenger and new DC guest.
Gordon Vaughan is champ. He had a pretty OK start on Friday, but can he make a late surge for the finals, which I believe are only 5 and a half weeks away.
Our new DC guest is Dr. Hilary Jones, normally seen giving medical advice on GMTV.
Luckily 3 things have stayed the same: Jeff, Rachel & Susie.
Once again, HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY, COUNTDOWN!

Re: Spoilers For Monday November 2nd 2009
This will probably inspire Charlie to create a dummy member called "Countdown", so that instead of saying "No birthdays today" on this day, it will always say happy birthday to "Countdown" in future.James Robinson wrote:Before I start today's spoilers, I'd like to say HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY, COUNTDOWN! Except, now I've said it, he won't.
Unless of course he now goes ahead and double bluffs me and does it.
No, he won't.

Already looking forward to Corby showing us the looping animated GIF of Rachel rubbing her thighs that he's surely going to make, or at least get one of his F365 slaves to make for him.

Surprised no cheesy "well you shouldn't have a problem finding a NINE in this selection".

Re: Spoilers For Monday November 2nd 2009
I've always liked Dr. Hilary Jones. He's one of those people who I have always been aware of through all of my life. Also, he's so ridiculously handsome, he could probably even turn Michael gay!
I still remember a quote by him years ago "I had six oysters once, but only four of them worked!"

As well as UITLANDER I think there was ASTATINE and REUNION somewhere too.
Thought I had GROMMIT in one rd but he's a character in an animated film franchise as it's actually GROMMET!

First numbers (in about 15 minutes):
((100+9)*4*9+1)/5
One of WTP's 99% games (I checked first but didn't look at the answer).

Nice work Clive, you legend.Clive Brooker wrote:First numbers (in about 15 minutes):

I spent the ad break duration having a go at doing it some different ways, still only got one away: ((100-9-4)*9)+1
I gave up pretty quickly assuming it was impossible (or at least, impossible for me) but your idea of checking a solver without actually spoiling it for yourself is genius.

Yes it is. Incidentally in the first four rounds of the numbers tourney 6 of these (99% games) came up, but unfortunately none was solved.Charlie Reams wrote:Lovely! I assume that's the only solution.Clive Brooker wrote:First numbers (in about 15 minutes):

Re: Spoilers For Monday November 2nd 2009
Round 2 - GAZEBOS
Round 9 - CAJOLES (good until COALESCE came up)
3rd numbers alternative:
25 x 10 = 250, 9 x 9 = 81, 250 + 81 - 4 = 327
Round 9 - CAJOLES (good until COALESCE came up)
3rd numbers alternative:
25 x 10 = 250, 9 x 9 = 81, 250 + 81 - 4 = 327

Never heard of him and he has yet to impress - but one lives in hope. I'm obviously spoilt by Dr Phil.Derek Hazell wrote:I've always liked Dr. Hilary Jones.
