Maspoiler for Monday 20 July 2009

Post by Charlie Reams »

Definitely the most built-up game of the series so far, Andrew needs 124 points to pass Kirk as the highest-scoring octochamp of all time. Scores of 124 and above are available in around 47% of games so it's really in the balance whether he'll even get a shot at it; it's doable with one nine, although two would make life a lot easier. Talking of nines, Andrew has the lowest-probability nine ever spotted on Apterous; not bad for a mediocre player who's just lucky.

So, will he or won't he?! Can't wait to find out, but it's been a phenomenal run whatever his final tally turns out to be.

Absolutely amazing, well done Andrew. Can't imagine the pressure you must have been feeling when that record was in sight, yet you kept composure and continued to score in every round, don't think many of us would be able to do that. Very well played, the record is well deserved.

Phenomenal. A well-deserved spot atop the table of all-time greats. And the scary thing is how much better he's got since this was filmed... Great that it went to the final conundrum. I wonder how tempting CAROTENES must've been.

Awesome game, an honour to get to recap it!

I was relieved to find out that I'd beaten him 117 - 106, but was shocked that they didn't mention 930 on the show.

Well done Andrew - a marvellous set of 8 performances. Yet again another record snatched away from me  .

It's a shame I knew he broke my record before it was televised as it got leaked on apterous but Andrew said I'd probably break 1000 with his letters. I didn't quite do that mate, but I did manage 981 - my best ever octorun total. Ever.

Well done Andrew liked the ' Unbelievable Jeff ' at the end, this could become a catchphrase

It's a shame that there was no mention of the Octochamp record though. I know it got mentioned when Kirk took it although admittedly it had lasted quite sometime.
I wonder how long this record will last?

Andrew Hulme, Andrew Hulme, makes records go boom
930 wont, be beaten soooooon
Andrew whom? Andrew Hulme, Andrew Hulme!
