It's not really a clue though is it? Clearly they already think it's a good start or they wouldn't have gone that way.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:17 pm I'm not sure Rachel should give clues by saying "That's a good start" when someone starts their numbers solution.
Well, they might be unsure, and she only says it when she's seen how to do it with the same start.Sam Cappleman-Lynes wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:14 pmIt's not really a clue though is it? This is a true statement, but I don't see how it provides any assistance to the contestant.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:17 pmWell, they might be unsure, and she only says it when she's seen how to do it with the same start.Sam Cappleman-Lynes wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:14 pmIt's not really a clue though is it? Saying "good start" is equivalent to saying "it is possible to reach the target from this position" and that really has to be your working assumption anyway when you're giving your solution, unsure or otherwise.
I don't think it's the worst thing ever but sometimes contestants are blagging or semi-blagging and correct themselves sometimes so I could imagine someone saying "Plus ... six? No, five?" depending on how Rachel reacts.Sam Cappleman-Lynes wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:27 pmThis is a true statement, but I don't see how it provides any assistance to the contestant.Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:17 pmWell, they might be unsure, and she only says it when she's seen how to do it with the same start.Sam Cappleman-Lynes wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:14 pm
