What's this nonsense with the fake going high on the 4-large? If you're doing e.g. 75×50/25, you don't start with 75×50. Poor form.

Hi Charlie

It’s your newest member Ashton and I would just like to ask you the following questions.

You participated in the last eposiode hosted by Carol Vordeman and you choose her last numbers game why did you select 4 Large numbers rather than giving her a free choice ?

Why didn’t you participate in the 30th Birthday Championship ?

Why don't you use an appropriate thread for your posts?

He probably chose 4 large so he'd have a chance at causing a crucial conundrum against junaid

If I've got this right, 75x50=3750 3750/25=150 is poor form, when you could say 75/25=3 3x50=150.
But 75/25=3 3x50=150 when you could say 100+50=150 is OK?
If you're showboating, you might as well showboat big.

Yes, but you're expecting Charlie to read every thread on the forum on the off-chance that someone's used it to ask him a random question.

Owen Carroll's answer will be the right one. If you're 11-20 points behind with just numbers and conundrum left, the only way you can possibly win is if your opponent fails to solve the numbers round. This means an easy numbers round is unlikely to be useful to you. Instead you want a harder one that it's more likely your opponent will miss.

Something like that. 3×50 is hardly showboating.

I think he just wanted to make himself more notable, and in fairness it probably has - even if not for a positive reason.

Exactly that.

I didn't participate in the birthday championship because the producers asked whether I would be happier to let someone else appear (I'd already been in a lot of episodes by that point). I was quite glad of the excuse because my skills, which were anyway pretty weak by the standards of subsequent series, had declined even more by then through lack of practice. I don't particularly enjoy being on TV anyway so I was very happy to step aside. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned that publicly before because I don't want it to sound like I oh-so-generously let someone else have my spot -- it's more that I would rather let someone who is probably better than me anyway get another shot at winning rather than me just inevitably being slaughtered in the first round.

Thanks for answering I just have two more questions

What is your favourite numbers selection ?

Why did you buzz in with GANDISEEG ?
