Ah thought Lewis would be on for a cracker of a comeback, hut was not to be. Well done to him for the very good spot, though. Well done to Alan though for adding to the influx of octochamps, and maybe Chris can take comfort knowing the fact he lost to an octochamp. This series is shaping up to be very interesting indeed......

Will we get 8 octochamps or not? I can tell you if you wish to know.

Thanks Tom. I do draw comfort from Alan's subsequent success and although it is slightly galling that I had him in my sights, you have to take your chances...

Looking forward to seeing the end of series battles.

That's interesting - do you know why they're doing that?

When was the last series where a 7-time champion didn't make the finals? Was it Series 47? As a wiki/Countdown history geek I should totally remember this... guess I've gotta turn in my card now
