LOWAGER in R13...what a shame Jacob fell at the last hurdle! The episode was recorded at about 2030hrs-ish back on Monday, 23 October 2017 so yeah maybe that explains why...

I am also sad to see Jacob go, a solid player who certainly could have octo'd had he not faced Mary. It was a very close game, but I think Mary put in the more solid performance- the 693 miss for Jacob was what did it- it reminded me of the last prelim game of S77. We will have to see how Mary fares as the show goes on....

Hate to disappoint but no lowager....LOWAGES though.

Does anyone else ever think it'd be amusing if they invited all those guilty of saying "and a better one" back to the studio to play specials and included a load of Zs, Qs, Js, Fs and Xs in the consonant box? Such is my hatred of people who say "and a better one".

He was a bit annoying though, right?

I suppose if you consider "and a better one, please", each time after a bad letter came out, then I get where you're coming from. But he seemed like a nice, happy chap who clearly has a big future ahead of him- and I'd rather see someone enjoying themselves (which he looked as if he was) than a grump in the seat
