OUTRATED a beater in R7, and BIOGLAS to beat BIOGAS in R8.

I was actually half expecting TUESDAY to come out in full in the last letters round, as I couldn't recall the Y having made an appearance yet. Mildly interesting that that selection happened to fall in a Tuesday programme.

Great job to Phil as well as Ben -- highest joint score of the series so far IIRC.

2nd Numbers Alt.: (25 * 4 + 3 * 4) * 5 + 1

Thanks guys. Ben was a great guy and enjoyed playing him. Really surreal watching the game back today.

Jesus Christ on a bike! :O
I just finished watching today's episode...

What an epic battle. Edge of seat stuff...
I played along at home as ever, and was trailing both contestants... (biggest gaps being by 16pts to Ben in Rd12, and by 14pts to Phil in Rd14)
Eventually ended up beating Ben by 1pt on the crucial, and losing to Phil.

Some game! Up there with the best of S77 so far.

I was pleased Nick asked Ben about the conundrum.
He didn't seem the sort to Hansford, but buzzing in that quickly for BLAZEBOOM? I couldn't imagine what else he thought it could be other than BAMBOOZLE. But as he was given the chance to explain that he thought it was EMBLAZON, and realised immediately it wasn't, that removed any possible suspicion. In fact it showed him up as very honest indeed, because if he'd hesitated for even a split second he'd surely have got it.
